Before I die...

I thought this project was very interesting! We can know what people want to do before they die. The speaker said "two of the most valuable things we have are time and our relationships with other people" and "thinking about death clarifies your life". I think this is very important and interesting because I've never think about death and this will clarify my life. So I thought I should start thinking about the death.  Anyway, I think "Before I die, I want to be tried for piracy" is very funny!

Before I die, I want to spend my family and my friends. Most of my  friends are spreading many places in Japan, so I can't meet them since I entered university. If I can, I want to meet them again. Also I want to spend my family before I die. I want to talk with them about the memories. Before I die, I want to be happy and satisfied with my life.

News Stories

The story about the thing that make difference in the future was interesting I thought. For example, the very small robot will go in to our blood and cure the disease and it already tested by using mouse. Also these days, people found the water on the moon and people think about to colonize there easier and it will success by NASA or China. I thought if NASA could success to colonize there, people can believe and it will huge news. But if China could success to colonize there, people might be surprised and some people might not believe because I don't know about how much skills to make rockets or somthing that China has. But I think it will be big news and people will not forget easy because the speaker said in the long run, some news stories are more important than others. I agree with it because if China could success, people might think about China more than now and people will change the looking points of China. I think there are many possible future about science, so I thought this is very interesting.

Mango Street

When I was a period of rebellion and it was 2nd grade of junior high school, I didn't listen to my parents' talking and I didin't talk with my family almost everytime. I didn't tidy my room so much, I didn't study or do my homework hard and I always read mangas or watched TV when I went home from school. My behavior was terrible I think. When my parents scold me, I said sorry but after I went to my room, I thought I did that just I wanted to do and then I didn't do anything or I didn't talk all day.
I always do something which my parents told me and I thought it was correct before I was the period of rebellion. But at that time, I always thought why should I do which my parents told me and why can't I do what I wanted to do, so I think at that time, I wanted to against my parents' told. It was continued until I the end of 2nd grade.

The Internet

I  use the internet almost everyday. After I bought iphone, I open the internet and check many things by it. I can't image if there was no internet. It is very useful to reserch something about the essay or watch some animation or dramas which I couldn't watch on the TV. I always watch animation or drama on the internet. Also I often search some music and listen. If there were no internet, we have to buy or rental books, videos or CDs. It spends may costs, so I can't image if there was no internet.

But some problems happen because of the intenet. For example, in China, many young people wrote about government or Japan on kind of the twitter and it became the demonstration. The internet can spread some gossip easy and we can't know they are correct or not. So I think we should be careful to use the internet and write some information on the SNS.

Endangered Cultures

I thought there are many cultures in one country is normal, so I can't image about if the world is becoming the mono-cultural. I lived in Malaysia and Malaysia is multicultural country, so everyday I looked many kinds of cultures such as Malay, Chinese and Indian also Western. I knew these cultures and I thought other cultures are very interesting and I felt I was very lucky to live in multicultural country. So I think if the world become mono-cultural, world become kind of lonely and mannerism. Other culture can make new culture and traditional culture might lose but we know our traditional culture. So I think if we don't forget about our culture, maybe it will not lose. I think thinking about the traditioinal culture is very important.

Fitting In

When I was a junior high school student, I saw a girl was bullying. When I saw her, she was alone in the class and at little far place in the classroom, there was a group of girls and they talked about her and they said "she is strange". They talked about famous idol group and she was trying to talk together, but she didn't know about that. Therefore, I think she could't fit in them, she couldn't follow their talking. In Japan, many girls think they should be same like they have same hobbies, same feelings etc. So she was bullied and she can't fit in.

I think bullying is so widespread in Japan because today, there are a lot of people use the internet and also there a lot people write about people's bad words. Ther internet can spread all of the world and it spread very fast. Also I think most students don't know about people will get injured in their minds if they were bullied. So I think the internet is the one of the reason for widespread in Japan and also students don't know about their minds or don't think about that so much. So I think is adults tell about how important to think about the life and bullying is very serious problem is can reduce the number of incidents.

Equality in the home

When I heard about wives can be paid for doing housework in Taiwan, I was just surprised because I thought doing housework is normal and everyone can do, so I was just surprised. Also I think if wives have paid for the houseworking, I think they will be sad because they are not doing the houseworking for money and I thought they are like employees if they have paid. I think they will think that, too, so I think this idea couldn't work in Japan.

My parents don't divide houseworks but my father sometimes helps my mother such as washes the bath or clears away the dishes. My father can do only easy things and he doesn't know how to use the microwave, washing machine and he doesn't know how to cook and he forgets how to use easy, so my mother says don't use machines because she thinks this is dangerous. It is like unfair but he can't do anythings, only easy things, so I think this is successsul. But if I can get married in the future, I want to marry with not like my father. (can't use machines) I try to do the houseworks as much as I can but when I can't do all, I hope he will help me. I think just helping is good for me like my parents.

Gender Issue

When I watched TV, I found one program was about gender issue on Japan. That was about many women are very poor today. Most of women are single mother. I heard if women got married and quit the job or company, they can't go back to that job or company. Also it is very difficult to find the new jobs. I don't know why they can't have jobs or can't go back to the company. I also heard these women can't talk about thier problems to the other people because most of women have no connection to their parents or friends. Also they said they are worried about the society. Most women think this is ashame and feel sorry to say. Most Japanese are worried about the society and they feel sorry to talk about their problems. This problem has happened because of the Japanese society?

I didn't know about many women are in very poor and I think this is very serious gender issue.

Japanese Subculture

There are many Otaku in Japan such as Rekishi Otaku, Anime Otaku, Densha Otaku etc.
What do you think about Otaku? Some people say they are little strange and have a lot of figures of the animetion characters and they don't talk to people so much or other negative ideas. But I think Otaku are amazing because this is kinds of their hobby and they love it very much. When I watch TV, Otaku about "ONE PIECE" and editors of "ONE PIECE" appeared and they gave some quizes each other and competed. Otaku knew about "ONE PIECE" very specific and editors were very surprised. I think they love it very much, so they could know it very much. I like Japanese animation and manga very much but not like Otaku and sometimes I can't understand why they want to know animetion very deep, so I respect them some parts.

My neighborhood

When I was a primary student, I played with a girl who lived to next door. She was one year older than me and she was very kind, so I enjoyed playing her very much! She was very active girl, so we always played outside and ran almost everyday. We just ran around the house or played with jump rope. I think she was my best neighbor. I want to meet her again!!
But now, I have never met to the neighbors, so I don't know about them...
I hope I will be able to meet them someday...

Socialization

When I was a child, I played outside almost everyday. My parents didn't say anything about played outside but they said I had to went back home before 7pm. Also they said I had to go outside and I couldn't stay home all day. At that time, I couldn't understand why should I go out and couldn't stay home. But today, many children don't go out and play inside their home. Many people said this is unhealthy for children, so I think my parents said to go outside to me because this is good for my health. But now I'm always inside the room and playing some instruments...

My plarents didn't say anything to me and I could do anything that I wanted to do but they told me if I started doing something, don't give up soon and I have to do it at the very least. Therefore, I don't give up soon and I do until I will be satisfied. That's why I can continue to play the instruments and don't quit the brass band club.

I don't remember about how my parents raise me up, but I learned what is the good things and bad things for me, so I think my parents' education gave me a good effect and I keep it in my mind.

The House on Mango Street

From reading "The House on Mango Street", we knew about the author, Esperanza and her family. We knew her family has moved often, so she was hard to make friends, her family is poor, so they didin't live at good place, her mother and father told about dream and they told they could live in better place than now but she is wise and realistic, so she understands she won't live in the house like a dream. She is having a hard life, so she feels she wants to be free and she wants to have a exciting life.
I understood Esperanza's life is very hard. My life is not like her life. I moved to Singapore soon Iwas born and after 10 years, I moved to Malaysia because of my father's job. Move to other country is hard because life is totally different but I could have a lot of friends and I could enjoy my life in Singapore and Malaysia very much. When we lived in overseas, we talked a lot and we were like a friend but now, we don't talk so much and we have different plan everyday, so sometimes we don't meet at home so much. My family is not noisy like Esperanza's family but I think my family became separately, so I feel little lonely.

Japanese Culture

There are many things which I like about Japanese culture. I like traditional food, fashion and Japanese pop culture like music, manga and animation. I like Japanese manga and animation very much and I think those are the best in the world because stories are very interesting and when I'm reading manga or watching animation, I always feel the time spend very fast. Also most pictures are very cute and cool, so I can enjoy manga and animation by the pictures. I think other countries' manga and animation are little different  to Japanese manga and animation. Some pictures are not delicate than Japanese pictures, so I like this Japanese pop culture very much and I feel proud of this culture in Japan very much!!

Most Japanese people are very polite and give some respects to people. I think to do this behavior is very difficult and I think this is proud of the culture  in Japan. But sometimes I feel little tiresome for this Japanese culture. When I went to clothes store, I was looking some clothes. Few minutes later, the clerk came close to me and gave some comments of the clothes which I looked. I think this is not bad thing but I felt I wanted to look silently. I think you also had this experience. I don't feel I dislike this culture but sometimes overdo for me.
