Gender Issue

When I watched TV, I found one program was about gender issue on Japan. That was about many women are very poor today. Most of women are single mother. I heard if women got married and quit the job or company, they can't go back to that job or company. Also it is very difficult to find the new jobs. I don't know why they can't have jobs or can't go back to the company. I also heard these women can't talk about thier problems to the other people because most of women have no connection to their parents or friends. Also they said they are worried about the society. Most women think this is ashame and feel sorry to say. Most Japanese are worried about the society and they feel sorry to talk about their problems. This problem has happened because of the Japanese society?

I didn't know about many women are in very poor and I think this is very serious gender issue.

  1. It is serious problem that women can't talk about their problem when they are in trouble:(
I hope Japanese society will be more open, though it's difficult to change the custom we used to.

  2. I think that is one of the reasons why we have to pay millions of consolation money when we get divorced. It is actually a disadvantage not to be able to go back to the work. But it might be same as men. Women have to leave the job for many reasons. I think that's the point!

  3. Not being able to go back to the company after taking a year off is certainly a gender issue. The lack of public conversation about this is a societal problem, I guess. Japanese only seem to want to get involved in/ talk about problems that affect them personally.

  4. I think that this is very complex and difficult issue which cannot solve easily. There are many reasons about that; for example, companies should make money to make big the companies, so they are very serious about working. If someone quits the job, the companies must give bad reputation and evaluation to them...This is the actual situation in japan now.
